Kate Wallace

Kate Wallace serves as director of government affairs in Florida for Charter Communications (Spectrum), focusing on local government affairs across Charter’s 28-county Florida footprint and extending high-speed broadband access to thousands of underserved Floridians. Prior to joining Charter, Kate was the director of public affairs for Florida Internet & Television (FIT), Florida’s cable industry trade association. Additionally, Kate championed a quality education for all through her roles with the Foundation for Excellence in Education (ExcelinEd) and as the founding executive director of Lakeland Leads (now ConnectED Polk). A Bartow native, Kate earned a B.S. in Public Relations from the University of Florida. As a student, she interned for then-U.S. Congressman Adam Putnam and the White House. After college, she held a series of government affairs positions in DC. Upon returning to Florida, she joined the The Fiorentino Group in Jacksonville before moving to ExcelinEd in 2012. Kate has been active in local, statewide and national civic organizations all of her adult life, including the Junior Leagues of Florida, Leadership Florida, United Way of Central Florida, Polk County Public Schools, the Gator Bowl Sports Committee, and numerous local Chambers of Commerce and Economic Development Councils across Florida. She also serves on the Florida Fiduciary Board of IDEA Public Schools. She resides in Lakeland.
