LEDC City Visits focus on high-skill-high-wage jobs, innovation & entrepreneur development, healthcare, higher education and downtown development & redevelopment. Their most recent trip was to San Francisco/Silicon Valley in November of 2011. This was the groups 8th benchmarking trip (Florida Bio Tour 2011, San Diego 2010, Raleigh RTP 2009, Austin 2008, Memphis 2007, Jacksonville 2006 & Orlando 2005). The LEDC's High-Skill/High-Wage Investor Group spent four days in meetings and touring with local representatives of the Economic Development Organizations, industry and local leaders, as well as the medical community and high-skill-high-wage employers, entrepreneurs and developers. In May of 2011 the high skill high wage investors visited Orlando's Medical City at Lake Nona, Port St. Lucie's Torrey Pines Institute for Molecular Studies and Scripps Research Institute in Jupiter, FL, capstoning the trip with a lunch with former Florida Governor Jeb Bush.
